sandergram - Leicester College Project

Students from Leicester College have been inspired and energised by the work of one of the twentieth century’s most influential German photographers, August Sander.

In partnership with Leicester Arts & Museums, students from the Creative Arts, Media and Photography Department at Leicester College have been researching and understanding the photographic techniques and influences of Sander to create their own pieces.

A selection of the students work will now be displayed on six billboards and on city centre poster sites across Leicester throughout December 2012.

As well as working with their tutors, the students received creative practical workshops from contemporary photographer, Gareth McConnell and had an insight into the work of Sander during a unique discussion his grandson, Gerd Sander.

The sandergram project has been generously funded by the Art Fund.

Download the sandergram flyer below to find out the billboard and poster locations across Leicester.
