Quality Improvement and Workforce Development

Ofsted inspect all types of childcare settings to ensure they provide a safe and stimulating environment for their children. We support providers to raise quality and improve the experiences that children have in care, learning and play.

What Early Education Development Team (EED) do

EED work with early years settings, groups and childminders, in the private, voluntary, independent and maintained sectors by:

• offering guidance and advice to prospective and new providers as well as the level 3 qualification/unit for newly registering childminders
• supporting providers with actions following Ofsted judgements
• giving advice on training as well as providing a comprehensive training programme
• helping providers to keep up to date with changes in legislation and information from Ofsted

The Quality Improvement Programme encompasses national strategies, the use of the self-evaluation form and provide quality improvement resources.
