Ride Leicester: Castle Classic and SkyRide
The Castle Classic returns to the streets of Leicester on Sunday 14 August. The event is free to watch, and sees Elite cyclists tackle Mile Straight, the King Power Stadium and the cobbles around Leicester Castle. The event is free to watch and will feature nine of the best professional teams in the UK, competing as part of British Cycling's National Elite Road Race Series.
On Saturday 13 August, keen amateur riders will be invited to compete in the Castle Classic Sportive - an event against the clock (not each other), over 60, 100 or 160km of Leicestershire countryside.
Last year, more than 300 keen riders took part in the Castle Classic sportive, with an estimated audience of 2,500 turning out to watch the Castle Classic professional race and supporting races.
Ride Leicester will culminate on Sunday 28 August with the ever-popular SkyRide. The event sees Leicester's streets opened up for cyclists to enjoy traffic-free.
