Permit Scheme
FREE!! Permit to recycle household materials.
- All vans/pick-ups and trailers over 1.4m long will need a Permit to use the Freeman Common Community Recycling Centre.
- Permits will only be issued to city residents.
- For Health and Safety reasons permits can no longer be issued for Bridge Road Recycling Centre.
The Permit System is designed to STOP non-household materials being disposed of at these sites.
Construction Materials Limits.
There will be the following limits on the amount of Construction Materials per Permit:
- 6 bags of soil or rubble (equivalent to 0.5m3)
- 4 windows
- 4 doors
- 4 kitchen units
- 1 bathroom suite.
Amounts greater than these will need either a hired skip or to be taken to a private Waste Transfer Station.
Waste Transfer Stations
There are commercial waste transfer stations located in and around the city where you can take your own materials. A CHARGE IS MADE FOR THIS SERVICE. Look in the Yellow Pages under Waste Disposal Services.
