Leicester's first Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA) audit result was announced in December 2002. Leicester was assessed as "FAIR".

In December 2003 the council was assessed as having reached the higher CPA category of "GOOD", and by December 2005 we had achieved the top rating of "EXCELLENT" (or four stars), demonstrating a consistent improvement in performance.
