Vivienne O’Neale
Vivienne O’Neale has over 30 years experience in social work. She has managed various child care services within the public and voluntary sectors nationally and internationally. She has experience of policy formation and development, management, and inspections. As a senior officer at the Community Relations Commission and the Commission for Racial Equality she was responsible for devising policies around race and social work; particularly fostering, adoption, training and recruitment of black staff.
Vivienne has been a researcher at Goldsmiths College, lecturer and co-ordinator of a Diploma in social work course. As Chief Welfare officer to the government of Grenada she has had responsibility for whole service of children and adults, working with government departments and voluntary agencies. With12 years experience in inspection work, primarily with the Social Services Inspectorate (SSI), Vivienne has led many local inspections and a national inspection culminating in the report “Excellence not Excuses”, 2002. She has also undertaken multi disciplinary inspections for and with various agencies including CSCI and HMIP at the inception of YOT inspections. Vivienne has been CRB cleared.
