Once you have obtained your authorities for marriage you will need to give them to the person who will be registering your marriage. If a registrar is to attend from the Register Office for the district in which the religious building is located then the authorities will need to be taken to that Register Office in accordance with their instructions to you.

If both of you have given your notice of intention to marry at our office then the authorities for marriage will be delivered directly to the registrar. The only matter that you will need to deal with is the payment of the fee for the registrar’s attendance at your wedding (including the issue of a marriage certificate). This is payable one month prior to your wedding day.

If one or both of you have given notice of intention to marry elsewhere than our office then you will need to bring to us the authority or authorities for marriage. We will then give them to the registrar who will be attending your wedding. The only other matter that you will need to deal with is the payment of the fee for the registrar’s attendance at your wedding (including the issue of a marriage certificate). This is payable one month prior to your wedding day.
