Free School Meals
The Council administers and authorises free school meals for eligible pupils in all City schools.
Who is eligible for Free School Meals?
Pupils can have free school meals if their parent(s), guardian(s) or carer(s) are in receipt of:-
- Income Support, or
- Income-based job seekers allowance, or
- National Asylum seeker support, or
- Child Tax Credits, but not Working Tax Credit, and their income DOES NOT exceed £14,495 (from 6 April 2008, this figure will increase to £15,575). Please note that it is very important that you ensure that ALL pages of the TC602 form issued by the Inland Revenue are included as proof of entitlement.
How to Apply for Free School Meals
Application forms can be obtained from:-
- Your child's school;
- Download a copy of the FSM application form;
- By telephoning the Free School Meals Service (252 7865) to have one sent to you;
or
- Applications can be made in writing to:-
