School Dinners

Lamb Lasagne dinner
City Caterings new menu has arrived

  • Includes new and favourite dishes
  • Meets food based & nutrient based standards
  • 4 weeks long to include more variety
  • Fresh salad available daily as an added vegetable choice
  • Chilled milk, yogurt or fresh fruit alternatives for dessert
  • All food freshly prepared each morning
  • Tasting sessions arranged to encourage children to try new dishes

This primary menu has proved challenging for City Catering, (a lot of blood sweat & tears were involved) because this term the nutrient based standards apply. It’s not just a matter of selecting dishes that we know most children will like, but balancing that with the nutritional analysis that is now required. City Catering have purchased a software package to analyse the menus, this Saffron package has been used extensively throughout the summer to check and ensure we meet the necessary requirements – all 14 of them.
