Policy and Communications
The Policy and Communications Unit supports the strategic development and management of the Children and Young People's Services Department. Its role includes:
- Ensuring that the department’s approach to strategic planning is co-ordinated and informed by national and regional policy developments relevant to the work of Local Authorities;
- Supporting the development of performance management within the department to ensure key performance targets and objectives are met;
- Developing good communications within the department, with schools and with other partners;
- Co-ordinating the development and implementation of the department’s work on equalities, sustainability and other corporate priorities;
- Providing project management support for key initiatives.
