Teenage Pregnancy Reintegration Project

 
Teenage Pregnancy Reintegration Project aims to:
 
  • Ensure all pregnant pupils and school age parents continue to access their full educational entitlement.
 
  • Support their parents in ensuring their children continue to recieve education.
 
  • Provide links to alternative Educational Provisions and Further Education placements.
 
  • Provide links to daytime childcare providers.
 
  • Maintain regular links with young mothers and fathers.
 
Teenage Pregnancy Reintegration Project helps young people by:
 
  • Offering opportunities so they can continue their education.
 
  • Giving advice and support on education options.
 
  • Working in partnership with schools to improve education provision
 
  • Monitoring educational achievement.
 
  • Accessing information from other services or agencies.
 
  • Working with the health service to ensure access to appropriate healthcare.
 
  • Providing links to benefits and housing agencies.
 
  • Involving the young person in decisions and processes at every possible stage.
 
Teenage Pregnancy Reintegration Project supports schools by:
 
  • Supporting pregnant teenagers.
 
  • Working with parents to find and maintain appropriate placements.
 
  • Having an open referral systems, where referrals can be made at any time during the pregnancy by the young persons or any involved agencies.
 
  • Helping to develop an agreed protocol for pupils who become pregnant and their schools.
 
  • Working to develop a Good Practice Guidance Policy for the Education Department.
 
  • Linking with Further Education establishments via schools.
