The Book Doctor

Alison Dunne - The Book Doctor
Poet, writer and avid reader Alison Dunne will be taking the floor in Leicester Libraries to talk to library users about their reading. Book Doctors have been springing up all over the country and are a definite ‘feel good’ part of library services.

Some people are overwhelmed by the choice in libraries, stuck on what to read next or might feel they’re in a reading rut. Alison will assist in choosing books, find new authors and help people discover new reading experiences.

Book Doctor sessions will be starting in Central Lending Library on Belvoir Street, every Wednesday from 3rd September 2008, 12noon to 2.00pm. Sessions are free. Alison will be on hand with lots of materials for readers and will help promote all library resources.

Local writers are also encouraged to get in touch with Alison, as one of the Libraries’ Literature Development Officers and herself a published writer, she has many years experience of reading promotion.

Reading is one of life’s greatest pleasures and the Book Doctor is on hand to help you on your way!
