Legacy of Partition
Leicester Libraries launched the project as part of their ‘National Year of Reading’ (NYR) programme.
The exhibition is accompanied by a collection of books and films for anybody interested in learning more about partition.
The ‘Legacy of Partition 1947-1948’ is one of 28 projects nationwide funded by the ‘Their Past Your Future 2’ grant programme run by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA).
Were you, or any members of your family, living or working in India during 1947-1948?
Would you be willing to share your/your families story?
Do you have any family memorabilia, photographs, dairies, letters, newspaper cuttings etc that the Leicestershire Records Office could copy/record for preservation at the Record Office as a legacy for future generations?
Anyone who would like to make a contribution to the project should contact Margaret Bonney at the Records Office on:
0116 257 1080 or email mbonney@leics.gov.uk
