Leicester’s ambitious Streets + Spaces initiative has been completed within its three year programme.
Streets + Spaces has included opening up streets to pedestrians through changing bus routes, removing roads through shopping areas, changes to lighting, tree planting, seating and other street furniture.
The project included:
This work has supported the investment in regeneration and construction in conjunction with the development of Highcross Leicester (the extended Shopping Centre); creating a large, safe and pollution free, traffic-free area - making visiting the city centre a pleasure.
