Article 4 Direction: Stoneygate Conservation Area

The Stoneygate Conservation Area Article 4 Direction was made by the City Council on 16 May 2007. The Direction covers the whole of the Stoneygate Conservation Area, and relates to all dwellinghouses within the conservation area.

The effect of the Direction is that a planning application must be submitted for most alterations to dwellinghouses and the curtilages of dwellinghouses, including alterations, extensions, rendering, stone cladding or painting, porches, garden buildings and enclosures, and the removal of gardens and garden walls.

For flats or buildings in any other use eg care home, offices, shops etc, there have been no changes to the rules governing alterations - a formal planning application must be submitted for any alterations to these buildings.
