Contaminated Land
The Council's Pollution Control group has the duty to ensure that contaminated land is identified, investigated and remedied. A Contaminated Land Strategy has been produced.
Contaminated Land and Planning Permission
The Council will not normally grant permission for development on contaminated land, unless the risks caused by the contamination can be overcome; this may involve legal agreements or conditions being applied to the permission.
