Pollution
The Pollution Team investigates and deals with complaints of atmospheric pollution, issues pemits to prescribed polluting activities under the Pollution Prevention and Control Act and also maintains the public register of these permits.

The Group is responsible for the review and assessment of air quality in Leicester. To assist in this we run or operate a number of air monitoring stations. Data from these stations is available to view and download on the Leicester Air Quality Monitoring Network website.
The team also has responsibility for dealing with contaminated land, either through the planning process when contaminated sites are redeveloped, or supervising the remedial treatment of Council owned sites where these present a danger to nearby residents.
