Some 15,000 granite slabs in shades of mid grey, dark grey and pink were used as part of the street’s £1.1 million refurbishment. 

 

 

Gallowtree Gate has been totally reconstructed, with new concrete foundations laid beneath the granite slabs, and hi-tech mortars and grouts ensuring a high quality finish. 

 

 

The last of the granite paving slab was laid on Gallowtree Gate, by Cllr Roman Scuplak, in November 2006.
