What's Your Plan?

What's Your Plan?
There is strong evidence that greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide (CO2), are causing the earth to warm.

And as over 40% of CO2 emissions in the UK come directly from what we do as individuals, we need to take a closer look at the choices we make in our daily lives. The way we heat our homes, the amount of electricity we use, the things that we buy and the way that we travel all affect the amount of CO2 that’s released into the atmosphere.

To understand how much CO2 you as an individual are responsible for, you need to calculate the amount that your lifestyle generates. This is known as your ‘carbon footprint’. Click here to calculate your carbon footprint.

If  we’re serious about reducing the threat of climate change, we need to pledge to reduce our carbon footprints.

To help you on your way towards a smaller carbon footprint, Leicester City Council has developed ‘What’s Your Plan?’ – a campaign that’s asking individuals and businesses in Leicester to do their bit for the planet.

Make a pledge to make a small change to your daily life that will significantly cut your carbon footprint - or if you’re ready to make bigger changes to your lifestyle, draw up a full action plan.
