Recycling
Every year, around 80,000 tonnes of Leicester's household waste are dumped in landfill sites - but what's going to happen in seven years' time, when local landfill sites are expected to be full?
The only solution to the city's waste problem is to recycle more - and to dump less.
In partnership with Biffa Leicester, the city council provides a range of recycling services to ensure that everyone in Leicester has the chance to reduce, re-use and recycle their waste.
Last year, more than 40% of household waste was diverted from landfill sites, with 33% being recycled and composted and 8% recovered for fuel.
