  • Leicester City Council's Adults and Housing department runs an apprenticeship scheme for craft trades, which covers plastering, carpentry, decorating, bricklaying, plumbing, electrics and gas servicing and maintenance.

  • The department recruits to the scheme annually.  There are normally between ten and fifteen vacancies each year.

  • The course lasts five years.  At the end of the course the craftsmen and craftswomen will have gained NVQ2 Maintenance Operatives, NVQ2 Gas (Corgi registration) and NVQ2 Domestic Installations (Electrics).
