Leicester City Council supports the abolition of the housing subsidy system, which diverts rent from Leicester Council tenants to London Councils, to create a real fourth option for investing in Council housing, as identified by the Audit Commission as a matter the government should review in its recent report 'Financing Council Housing', where more local accountability was sought.
