Rechargeable Repairs

The Council will carry out repairs - and charge tenants for the cost of the repairs - when they are due to damage or negligence by tenant or their visitors. These types of repairs are called rechargeable repairs.
 
Some common rechargeable repairs are:
  • gaining entry and renewing of locks if the keys are lost
  • replacing of glass where the damage is caused by the tenant and not a third party
  • clearing of blocked waste pipes
  • replacing of damaged fixtures and fittings where the damage is malicious or through neglect
  • putting right poor DIY projects
  • clearing rubbish and belongings in empty properties
  • replacing floor tiles where carpets have been removed
