To claim Housing or Council Tax Benefit, you must complete an application form. These are available from:
Revenue & Benefits reception,
Ground Floor, Wellington House,
22-32 Wellington Street

Application forms are also available from Customer Service Centres, B Block New Walk Centre and:
- any of the neighbourhood housing offices
- King Street,
- New Parks
- Saffron Lane.

How long will it take to process my application?
Last month (November) we took on average 36 days to process a new claim Our aim is to process your new application within 30 days.
You can download an application form . Please see the link below.
If you come to our Wellington Street reception point, we guarantee to make a decision on your claim within 24 hours of you handing in the application form providing all the information we need is supplied. We will try to see you as quickly as possible.
If you haven't got all the required information, we can set an appointment for you to return with the necessary material.
Applications submitted by post or handed in personally take longer to process.
If you are housebound or elderly, we have a welfare visiting service to help you complete the form at home and verify your supporting information. To request this service, call our Benefit Hotline on 0116 252 7006.
