Tenants and Residents Associations
Tenant and Residents Associations (TARAs) are local groups organised and managed by a committee of local volunteers.
TARAs help people to work together to improve their local community, by enabling local residents to campaign for specific improvements, access funding from the City Council, build better relationships with service providers on the estate, and generally develop their community with local needs and wishes in mind.
There are a number of different TARAs located across Leicester. Details of where they are and how you can become an active member can be found at your local neighbourhood housing office (tel: 0116 252 7007) or the Housing Options Centre in Phoenix House, Welford Place.
