Public Art Leicester
Touch the Bede Park ceramic maps and sit in the Stone Circle performance space. Stroll through the colourful metal entrance gates of the International Youth House and read the intricate etched poems on the glass conservatory walls. Discover the bronze Seamstress and sporting champions sculptures; add to these the decorative window railings of the Mosquito Coast and the Market Place column sign, a series of red pods and draped columns on New Walk - and you have experienced some of Leicester's rich and varied collection of Public Artworks. As part of buildings or in public spaces, virtual or real, permanent or temporary, celebrating achievements or just creating more interesting and dynamic places, they are there for all to enjoy.
