As Lord Mayor, I am very honoured and privileged to support Leicester’s Black History Season. Black History Season is something of which we can all be proud. Leicester is home to many African/African Caribbean communities and it celebrates the diversity of the multi-cultural city of Leicester. A selection of such events helps all who live in the city to work towards learning and understanding more about the communities that live here. African/African Caribbean citizens of Leicester have made the

city proud of their achievements worldwide. I am looking forward to attending the diverse collection of events programmed for this year.
