| Leicester Belgrave Mela - Festival of South Asian Arts & Culture | |

12th July This festival of south Asian arts & culture includes a live entertainment stage, celebrity guests, community performances & a music & dance programme. The event also boasts the Mela Bazaar. 25th July - 31st July The Games include the widest number of sports & competitors across 21 sports with 2,700 athletes, 1,200 coaches, 6,000 visiting families, 1,500 volunteers & seven days of achievements starting with a spectacular Opening Ceremony at Leicester City Football Club. |

1st August Enjoy one of the biggest street carnivals outside of London, which culminates with celebrations at Victoria Park. Lots to see & do at this great event which caters for the entire family. |

2nd August Gain an insight into this colourful Hindu religious event where Leicester citizens will experience for the second year running a three chariot festival, making Leicester once again just the second city in Europe to host this festival on such a scale. |

14th - 16th August Don't miss the 9th annual Summer Sundae Weekender festival this August, an award-winning, three day festival held in De Montfort Hall & Gardens with well over 100 acts. Expect lashings of music, comedy, spoken word, film & activities for children & the whole family. |
| Castle Park Heritage & Arts Festival | |

24th - 31st August Celebrating its 20th year, this year's festival will take place at venues throughout the Castle Park area from Monday 24th August & will culminate with a family day at Castle Gadens & an evening concert by Eddi Reader at Leicester Cathedral on Monday 31st August. |

28th September The Hindu festival of Dashera concludes the festival of Navratri & commemorates the victory of good over evil, celebrations include the burning of a huge effigy representing King Ravana, a firework display & stage entertainment. |
