The City Gallery is Leicester’s leading contemporary gallery, exhibiting vibrant art that reflects the values of the city’s cultural diversity.
 
Comprising three exhibition spaces, including fine art and crafts, the City Gallery hosts a changing exhibitions programme with twelve shows per year. The exhibition programme is balanced to include all art and craft disciplines and aims to show local, regional, national and international work.
 
The Upstairs Gallery is available for hire and shows exhibitions from local, regional artists, organisations and community groups.
 
The City Gallery operates a offsite programme taking in venues around Leicester including theatres and community centres, and to other galleries around the UK.

Learning is placed at the core of the City Gallery and opportunities are offered to schools and colleges along with informal workshops and events open to people of all ages and abilities.
 
The City Gallery friends scheme enables you to support our work and will entitle you to a 10% discount on purchase of arts, crafts in the gallery shop and Open exhibitions and the hire of the Upstairs Gallery.
 
The gallery shop offers an extensive collection of high quality contemporary jewellery, textiles, glassware and ceramics, handmade greeting cards, affordable original artist prints and specialist magazines.
 
The City Gallery is directly managed by Leicester City Council’s Regeneration & Culture Department and receives grant aid from Arts Council England.

Saturday:
10.00am – 5.00pm
 
Closed: Sundays, Mondays and Bank Holidays
 
Free admission (charges vary for certain activities and workshops).
