Leicester Shire Young Ambassadors has been chosen as one of 10 pathfinder projects as part of the national £25million Government programme called ‘Find Your Talent’.
The 'Find your Talent' programme aims to give young people the chance to enjoy a range of high-quality cultural experiences for five hours a week, both in and outside school. This programme will run from September 2008 – March 2011.
Leicestershire County Council is leading the project in partnership with Leicester City Council and Creative Partnerships Leicester.
The Young Ambassadors programme aims to increase participation in cultural activities, encouraging children and young people to determine their own cultural priorities and become more involved in their planning and delivery. Some examples might be a young promoters or young choreographers programme and visits to local and regional performances.
