HANDLING BOXES

For Key Stage 1
 
Childhood Handling Boxes at Belgrave Hall and the Guildhall
To support Key Stage 1 topics we also have Victorian Childhood and Tudor Childhood handling boxes for use at Belgrave Hall and the Guildhall respectively. Each box contains a selection of real and/or replica artefacts, description cards and teachers’ notes. There is a nominal charge for using the boxes for either a half or full day.
 
For Key Stage 2
 
Roman Handling Boxes at Jewry Wall Museum
A large number of handling boxes each containing a variety of Roman artefacts discovered around the city are also available for use within the Museum. There is a small charge for their use.
 
Victorian Handling Boxes at Belgrave Hall
Teachers can also book our Victorian handling boxes for a small charge. The boxes focus on either Victorian domestic life or Victorian childhood topics. Each box contains a variety of replica artefacts and description cards.
 
Anglo-Saxon Loans Boxes to use within school
Five loans boxes on the topic of Anglo-Saxons are available for up to one term. Each box contains illustrations, artefacts with descriptions, a comprehensive teachers’ pack and either an authentic burial urn or brooch dating from the Saxon period.
