Weddings at The Guildhall
The Guildhall in Leicester is one of the best-preserved timber-framed halls in the country, dating back 600 years. Its unique rooms include a 17th century Town Library and Mayor's Parlour, a modern Visitor Centre for receptions and the Great Hall - a fantastic setting for weddings.
The Great Hall is the oldest part of the Guildhall and arguably the most beautiful and impressive. The murals on the ceiling date back to the 17th century and show the arms of the Borough and the Hastings family. Over the years it has been used as a venue for social gatherings, banquets, festivals, civic events and theatrical performances - it is believed that Shakespeare performed here during Tudor times.
The Great Hall can accommodate up to 80 people (depending on the seating arrangement). To discuss your requirements further, please contact the Operations Manager on 0116 253 2569.
If you wish to see the Guildhall before booking, it is open to the public February - November, Saturday - Wednesday 11am - 4.30pm and Sunday 1pm - 4.30pm. Admission is free.
