Prebend Gardens
Prebend Gardens
Prebend Gardens are located within the South Highfield’s area of Leicester City. Its location within a busy residential district close to the city centre offer a valuable green space for the surrounding communities.
The gardens were designed by Leicester City Council in 1987 in conjunction with the City Wildlife Project. The gardens were opened by the Lord Mayor of Leicester the same year. In 2005 the gardens underwent a regeneration project, again in partnership with Leicester Council Parks Services and the Local Friends Of Prebend Gardens group.
The gardens offers seating throughout, a miniature sensory garden and a pond which are a haven for wildlife.
The Friends of Prebend Gardens have now been replaced by an active User Group, the group have been working with the Local Dawn Centre to help improve the garden with practical days such as replanting and litter picks.
