Passport to Parks
Passport to Parks is a national award winning ‘brass rubbing’ type trail around 12 of Leicester’s finest parks.
How it works
Each passport contains a map of 12 Leicester parks and information on how to get there. On each page, opposite the information, there is a blank page. This is where a ‘brass rubbing’ (with a crayon or pencil for example) of the ‘passport to parks’ symbol to be found on each park, can be made. This is mounted on a wooden post situated in the park. Each symbol is different on each park. As you search for each plaque you will also discover the wealth of ancient monuments, wildlife and recreational facilities to be found on these parks.
For each passport received with 5 or more parks symbols collected, participants will receive a free pass/family pass to another leisure facility the City Council provides courtesy of the Sports Services Section.
How to participate
Anyone wanting to participate in Passport to Parks can obtain passports from Leicester libraries, leisure centres, museums and community centres or by contacting Parks Services on 0116 2527003, 0116 2293632/63 or email:parks@leicester.gov.uk.
