For non-players it’s never too late to get to grips with one of the most mysterious and challenging leisure pursuits.
As one leading author of golf recently wrote:
“The appeal of golf is both profound and mysterious. There is the beauty of (most) golf courses; the sheer, animal satisfaction in hitting a ball with a stick and watching it go a long way; the tough, empirical gratification in watching yourself improve through study and hard work. But all of these things are part of a much greater whole, which is the sublime, seductive mystery of the game.”
Both of the courses are well placed to help anyone remotely interested in taking their first step into the sport and also provide the following back up support and customer service:
- No need to worry about buying any equipment in the first place as both venues are well stocked with clubs, balls, tees and leisure wear to hire if necessary.
- Humberstone Heights Golf Complex offers non-players a series of 6 x weekly ‘free’ golf lessons throughout the year.
- Pitch and putt facilities at Humberstone Heights.
- Bar and catering facilities at both venues.
- A first class driving range facility is available at Humberstone Heights.
- Attractive money saving golf offers is also available at both venues - City Golf Card.
And why not take advantage of the all-round health benefits of playing this most challenging individual pursuits. Its now acknowledged by many health experts that walking is the nearest activity to perfect exercise, improving one’s energy levels, stamina and overall well-being. Recent studies into walking for health have shown that those people who walk more often have a strong commitment to keep walking, use their cars less and make fewer visits to the Doctor.
There’s no better time like present to put a spring in your step and take a leisurely stroll along the fairways of Leicester’s two premier golf courses.
