On Saturday 2nd June 2007 Humberstone Heights Golf Complex hosted the Regional Competition for the Wee Wonders 2007. The Championships now in its 14th year continued to lead the way for grass routes golf, with 70 qualifying events and 9 regional finals across Great Britain and Ireland.

 

Children were split into categories boys and girls age 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 years. Winners of the regional finals qualified for the Grand Final on the 25th & 26th August 2007 at St Andrews (Scotland).

 

The winning participants from the Humberstone Heights Qualifiers who went forward to the regional finals were as follows:

 

 

Age 7-8 : Esme Hamilton

Age 9-10: Charlotte Longstaff

Age 11-12: Kate Frankham

 

 

Age 5-6 : Jake Fromant

Age 7-8: David Rees

Age 9-10: Yassin Karim

11-12: Jevann Parmar

 

Well done to all competitors, on a hot day at Humberstone - they coped well under the pressure of the event and the heat and there was some excellent golf on display!
