What we mean by a Carer

We can offer support and advice to both carers and the people they care for.

By carer we mean adults, parents of children with disabilities and young people under 18 who provide practical support and/or direct supervision to someone who is unable to manage by themselves.

The term carer would not apply if the person is a paid carer, a volunteer carer from a voluntary organisation or anyone providing personal assistance for payment either by cash or in kind.

Right care Right deal

A national campaign to build public awareness and support for the need for brave and innovative solutions for the social care system for older and disabled people, their families and carers. http://www.rightcare.org.uk/
