When will I get a fine?

Civil Enforcement Officers will issue a penalty charge notice (PCN) for vehicles parked illegally. To avoid receiving a PCN:
 
  • Do not park on double yellow lines
  • Do not park on single yellow lines during the times shown on the sign
  • Do not park in a loading bay unless continuous loading or unloading activity can be seen
  • Do not overstay in short stay parking spaces
  • Do not park in bus lanes or bus stop clearways
  • Do not park in taxi ranks
  • Do not park in a disabled parking space unless you display a blue disabled badge
  • Observe parking bay restrictions which include verges and pavements
  • Always purchase a pay and display ticket for the required time when parking in a pay and display area
  • Refer to the highway code
  • Take notice of parking signs and restrictions
