Leicester Park & Ride Scheme
Leicester City Council and Leicestershire County Council are working together on a new proposed park and ride service for Leicester.
The new site is proposed to be located near Fosse Park and junction 21 of the M1 motorway. The idea is to link this site where people can park their cars to the city centre with a frequent bus service.
The scheme underwent full public consultation between 18th November and 31st December 2005. Included in the consultation was a 2 day public exhibition showcasing artist impressions of how the site may look, which was held on the upper floor of The Shires on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd December 2005.
A published leaflet and questionnaire was also made available for members of the public at designated libraries, post offices and other public buildings.
