Cycling in Leicester

cycle path
Leicester City Council’s aim is get more people cycling, more safely, more often.

There are more than 60 miles of sign posted cycle-ways in the city and plans for a network of safer routes, on-road and off, linking schools, health centres and places of work. Priority for infrastructure is given to traffic reduction, lower speeds, cycle lanes, new road crossings and off road links.

Our strategy is promote cycling with training, events and to support social bike projects & community cycle clubs.

Key projects are co-ordinated via the Cycle-City-Workshop. A monthly meeting of advocate groups, bike projects clubs and cycle shops.
