Air Quality, Noise and Traffic Information
Transport Systems Section, along with Traffic Strategy and Pollution Control Section have worked on a number of research projects in the field of air pollution, traffic management and their effects on people's health in Leicester.
It is the aim of these projects to:
- Examine the relationship between traffic and air / noise quality
- Trial possible solutions to reduce congestion and the impact traffic has on the environment
- Raise awareness and make information available to the public
These projects have allowed Leicester City Council to draw on the expertise of research institutions and organisations in the UK and Europe.
