‘A major refurbishment and improvement programme is due to start at the end of November. New cremators will be installed which comply with the recent legislation regarding mercury emissions. New toilets will be provided in the main foyer and there will be a public car park on the right of the main approach drive.
There will be some changes to the traffic circulation whilst works are in progress but, as much of the works will take place early and late in the day and at weekends, there will be minimal disruption to normal services.

Welford road wildflower areas are to maintain and protect a decreasing inner-city habitat and monitor native flora and fauna within the cemetery.
At no time is it our intention to impede any visitor and instructions can be given to cemetery staff, on request, that any area around an individual’s grave can be mowed and left clean and tidy for them.
The entire wildflower meadows will be mowed within the months of June & July after flowering and all cuttings will be removed.
