Community Payback
Community Payback

“The main aim is to reduce the harm caused by crime by arranging for offenders to make visible reparation in response to local community priorities." Lee Johnston, Community Payback Team

In 2009/10 over a six months period around £1 million of community work and over 110,000 hours has been spent in Leicester’s communities through the Community Payback Programme. Offenders working under the supervision of the Leicester and Rutland Probation Trust have been handed community projects to do 7 days a week improving community parks and facilities, tidying up neighbourhoods, school grounds and helping charities under the Government Community Payback Programme.
