An Adult Gaming Centre whose licence was granted prior to 13 July 2011 is entitled to make available four category B gaming machines, or 20% of the total number of gaming machines available for use on the premises, whichever is the greater. Any AGC whose licence is granted on or after the 13 July 2011 will be subject to the same restrictions until 1 April 2014, from that date those premises must comply with the 20% entitlement. In addition to the category B machines, an AGC can also provide an unlimited number of category C & D gaming machines. They are strictly for over 18's only, and children are not allowed in any part of the premises. Should you wish to operate an arcade that admits children - please see Family Entertainment Centres.
If you wish to apply for permission to operate an arcade, you will need to apply to the Gambling Commission for operating and personal licences, and to Leicester City Council for a premises licence.
