Family Entertainment Centres

Licensed family entertainment centres are able to offer an unlimited number of category C & D gaming machines. Children are allowed to enter licensed family entertainment centres and to gamble on category D machines. Any category C machines must be located only in over-18 areas. Should you wish to only provide Category D gaming machines, please see Unlicensed Family Entertainment Centres.

New Operators of Arcades

If you wish to apply for permission to operate an arcade, you need to apply to the Gambling Commission for operating and personal licences, and to Leicester City Council for a premises licence.

Family Entertainment Centre licences are of unlimited duration. You will not need to apply again unless your circumstances change. You will however, be required to pay an annual fee for both your operating licence and your premises licence.

Application forms enabling you to apply for your premises licence can be found by using the link at the left of this page.
