How do I make a representation?
The statutory representation period begins the day after a valid application is received by the Licensing Authority and lasts for 28 days. During this time there must be at least one notice in the local paper and a notice displayed on site for 28 days. The application will also appear on the Public Register, which can be accessed from this web site.

Any representations must be made in writing and received during the representation period. You can write to us at the address shown under "Contact the Licensing Authority" or send an email to licensing@leicester.gov.uk . Unfortunately we are experiencing problems with our online form and have had to temporarily remove it from use. In the meantime, you can email it to us an attachment or print it off from the link below and submit it by post.

Representations may not be made anonymously. Any representations that are received will be included in a report to the hearings panel. This report will be a public document, and will be circulated to the parties involved prior to the hearing.

Any petitions received will be treated as one representation from the person sending it in, supported by the other signatories. Petitions will NOT be treated as individual representations from everyone who has signed.

The government has prepared guidance for members of the public about making a representation. This is available to download below. General advice from the Home Office about the Licensing Act 2003 is available on our 'Guidance documents' page.

Leicester City Council has produced a leaflet about the representation process, which is also available below.
