The City Council's Licensing Team issues licences for taxis (hackney carriages and private hire vehicles), drivers and private hire operators, and carries out inspections to ensure that standards are maintained.
We are currently consulting about a new policy on the age of vehicles we will licence as hackney carriages and private hire vehicles. If you wish to complete a questionnaire, please return it to the Licensing Section no later than 20 January 2012.
