The City Council's Conditions of Fitness for Hackney Carriages were approved on 30th October 2006 and came into force for new vehicles from 1 December 2006. When the Conditions of Fitness took effect, requirements relating to the appearance of hackney carriages also applied. Application to Existing Vehicles
In April 2008 Cabinet agreed that the conditions of fitness for hackney carriages should apply to all existing vehicles as well as those being licensed for the first time. The report and minutes are attached below.
