Christmas cards
You can recycle these in your orange bag. You could also try re-using them as gift tags for next year's presents.
Wrapping paper
Can be recycled in your orange bag too (with the exception of metallic type wrapping).
Sweet Tins, Foil, Cardboard and Plastic Packaging
Please recycle all these items in your orange recycling bag.
You can visit Freeuse to allow others to reuse your unwanted items for free or why not donate them to a local charity shop?
Christmas trees
Can be planted in the garden or taken to one of the city's Community Recycling Centres where it will be mixed with other green waste to be made into compost.
Textiles and shoes
You can take these to the Community Recycling Centres or use one of the textile banks around the city.
Old electronic and electrical items
You can recycle all of these at the Community Recycling Centres.
Batteries
Can be taken to the Community Recycling Centres or to one of the many recycling points in around the city.
Food leftovers
If you have got a fridge full of excess food from the Christmas and New Year celebrations, you could try some tasty leftover recipes from the Love Food Hate Waste website.
