 Apply for your permit online

Free! Permit to recycle household materials

  • All vans/pick-ups and trailers over 1.4m long will need a Permit to use the Freeman Common Community Recycling Centre.
  • Permits will only be issued to city residents.
  • For Health and Safety reasons permits can no longer be issued for Bridge Road Recycling Centre.

The Permit System is designed to stop non-household materials being disposed of at these sites.

Construction Materials Limits

There will be the following limits on the amount of Construction Materials per Permit:

  • 6 bags/sacks of soil or rubble (typically 25 kg maximum)
  • 4 windows
  • 4 doors
  • 4 kitchen units
  • 1 bathroom suite

Asbestos must be double wrapped and limited to 8 sheets per visit.

Amounts greater than these will need either a hired skip or to be taken to a private Waste Transfer Station.

Waste Transfer Stations
